1988-1991
Mineral was born in 1988; the head office was in Sassuolo, in a zone rich in clay quarries,
that's always been considered the cradle of the ceramic tiles.
Sassuolo stands on the hills near Modena, the town that's famous for the knitting and the car industry.
The first objective of Mineral was to trade in raw materials for the ceramic industry; the strategy
was to offer customers qualified method of selling with the help of a laboratory of research.
The laboratory team worked in an independent way to measure and to study the behaviour of raw
materials in the different productive typologies, to find their better applications and then
to check their quality.
ALCOA (Aluminium Company of America), world leading producer of aluminium,
gave support to Mineral; the technical relationship between ALCOA's and
Mineral's laboratories brought to the production of new types of aluminium
oxide that meet different market's requirements.

1991-1997
In 1992 Mineral purchased
an estate in Formigine, not far from the Ferrari racing-track,
that is consequently equipped to serve as office, depot
and laboratory.

1997-2000
Mineral started a new experience following the research on a feldspar quarry in Milas
(Western Turkey).
The results obtained with a big waste of time and efforts, persuaded Mineral to go on
that way and to strengthen the geological research.
Mineral developed new mining researches on granite quarries in Baveno (Lake Maggiore)
and in Corongiu (Southern Sardinia)

2000-2001
KAOSA (Kaosa S.A. Compania Minera)
Mineral launched a new line of raw materials: ALLKOM.
This is the brand name of the raw materials processed to reduce the bad
effects of dust and of all the waste materials (recycled) that can be used
in the production cycle thanks to a painstaking selection and quality control.
Packaging of these raw materials guarantees the worker's safety during the handling.

2002-2004
Thanks to the cooperation with ALCOA's plant in S.Ciprian (Spain),
Mineral worked out a plan to ship calcined alumina for bodies from
S.Ciprian to Genoa: during 2003 about 10000 ton of material have
been stocked in the warehouse at Genoa port and then consigned
directly to the customers by tank.
At the same time Mineral started to market a precipitated hydrate alumina,
produced at ALCOA's plant in Little Rock (US), with chemical-physical
characteristics innovative for the ceramic industry.
Mineral became agent of Southern Africa's foremost producer of high quality water-washed kaolin:
S E R I N A (Serina Kaolin Ltd.)

2005-2007
Alcoa completed the sale of Alcoa Specialty Chemicals to Almatis (Alumina Materials Innovative Solutions )
that, with nine wholly owned production facilities in Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, India, China and the Unite States,
has become the world's leading producer of alumina-based materials for refractory, ceramics, polishing, cast polymers and paper applications.
Mineral started the cooperation with Almatis keeping on selling hydrate aluminas, produced in the USA,
and calcined aluminas, produced in Europe.
Today Mineral sells a wide range of aluminas, from calcined to idrate, besides Alcoa's alumina for bodies
glazes and frits, produced in S.Ciprian
